Day to Day

Our New Obsession

We don't know about you, but every time we try making a meme in Photoshop, it looks, well, like a kindergartener's first drawing. The font made up in our heads wasn't available, the color selection was daunting, and the final meme just looked a bit thrown together. So I gave up on graphics on my pictures. We would stick to photography, not graphic design. BUT THEN, we found it! The most magical app that helped us with our type font insecurities, Phonto. From scribbly font filled with character to classy crisp letters, this is our font dream.

So the past two days we've been having way too much fun with this, so much that we have had to restrain myself from posting 30 memes in a row. Here are just a few. You're welcome.

Rainy Day Blues, Psh

Day to DayLauren Wester1 Comment

Let's appreciate rainy days! Here in Salt Lake City, spring is pretty much the only time we have rain. We want to challenge everyone to enjoy doing nothing, at least once in a while. It seems like people are always stressed. It's in our nature to worry about life, work and things that don't even matter in the grand scheme. Let the rain remind us to relax, smell the beautiful fresh water hitting the cement, and light some candles.

Some suggestions for doing nothing on a rainy day:

1. Open a window. We've never met anyone who didn't like the smell of rain. If you don't like the smell of rain, we're sorry, you're missing out. No artificial scent has ever captured real rain hitting the sidewalk and grass. The window breeze may chill you a little, or a lot, so make sure to grab your duvet from your bed and create a cocoon with you in the center.

2. Drink coffee or hot chocolate or warm tea. Having a big mug with something warm inside will relax you and cozy you up. If caffeine does you wrong, go with hot chocolate or caffeine free tea. You will be one step closer to feeling relaxed.

3. Light some candles. We're a little obsessed with candles. If our place had enough room, we would have a candle making studio and light dozens of candles in each room every night. Moody clouds and light diffusing curtains create a perfect ambiance for flickering candles. It's not everyday you can light a candle in the middle of the day and see the orange-yellow hue emitting from it.

4. Watch a movie that makes you think, or shows you a more realistic point of view. We're a fan of mindless movies and comedies, but let your rainy day relax you and remind you life isn't that bad, other people are in the same boat, and to not stress the small stuff. Simba likes Dan in Real Life. If you haven't seen it, you should rent it right now. That's right, stop working, stop sitting, whatever you are doing, go rent it. Well, maybe if your working, wait until the end of the day. Dan in Real Life is awkward, uncomfortable and funny. It's something to help you stop stressing about your own life because most people have similar problems.

5. If you've done all of the above, became so relaxed you took a nap and woke up rejuvenated, go outside and play in the puddles. Because let's be real, jumping in puddles is fun at any age. Then you can go back to your movie, coffee, duvet snuggles and go to bed.
